I have a few proud mom moments that I want to share.
Brynn
I got a phone call from the elementary school while I was at work. "Sorry to bother you at work but I felt this was very important. Brynn is one of nine students in the whole school who has earned a lunch at Chile's with the principal and we don't have a permission slip for her to go." I was dumbfounded. I hadn't heard anything about this or even seen a permission slip of any sort. But I was also so proud of Brynn. I had no idea what was going on, but it sounded like she'd done something pretty good. I gave verbal consent to the secretary and sat for the rest of my work day in a quiet excitement. My heart was swollen with pride and thankfulness for such GOOD girls. As soon as I picked Brynn up I asked her what the lunch had been about. She told me that she and her friend Grace had played with a handicapped girl at recess. With further questioning from me I found out that Maddy, the handicapped girl, was a mentally handicapped sister of one of Brynn's friends. Brynn met Maddy while playing at her house with her sister. One recess the handicapped class was outside and Maddy, according to Brynn, usually sits in a corner, so Brynn and Grace went over to her and started asking her questions. Like, "what's your favorite number?" and "what's you favorite shape?" Maddy would draw her answers in the air and Brynn and Grace would try to guess her answers. One of Maddy's teachers saw Brynn and Grace doing this, which of course led to a field trip lunch with the principal.
Casidee
Casidee is having a birthday party tomorrow for her 9th birthday. A new girl moved into her class last week, and Casidee, wanting the girl to have some friends, asked if she could invite her. Of course I let her. I'm so proud of Cas for thinking of her. Cas has, unfortunately, been the "new girl" a few times, so I'm so glad she can now reach out to another in the same position.
I'm so thankful that I get to be a part of these girls' lives. And that they ARE my life. I couldn't imagine making life's journey with out a single one of them.

Your girls do have hearts of gold and they got them from their mama. I'm sure they learned by example and you have every right to be proud of them. What sweethearts.
That is so sweet! Me and Zach always talk about this, that we hope our kids will grow up being a friend to everyone and never exclude people.
That is so awsome... wheling up with tears right now!
