There are worse things than missing a couple of dentist appointments

I'm so tired and frustrated right now. Life takes its cycles, it does for everyone. Frankly, if I could just get my ex out of my life things would be perfectly fine. Or at least less agitating. I was on his insurance, but got my own at work, knowing full well he would take me off. I was just waiting for it. I figured he would let me know and that would be that. Not only did he NOT let me know, he retro-canceled it back to October of 2007. Yes, he canceled back to a year and a half ago. So now all claims on that insurance for the past year and a half will be coming back at me for payment. I found out because the insurance mailed me a letter of cancellation. Of course we had a huge fight. It wasn't that he canceled, it was that he canceled it back so far and didn't even have the consideration to tell me. The argument from my point of view was consideration for each other, and if all he's doing is taking every shot for himself, with no consideration for me, then why in the world was I trying to be considerate to him? He still thinks the entire argument was over money, he completely missed the mark and couldn't, or wouldn't, grasp what I was actually trying to say. One funny part was when he said, "we only fight when it's over finances." Really? Seriously? "That's because the only link I have with you anymore is financial, why would I be talking to you about anything else?"
I haven't taken the girls to the dentist since my divorce. My bad I know, but something I'm trying to get back on track with now. I sent him a text today asking him if the girls had dental insurance through him. He asked if I've not taken them to the dentist the past year and half? Nope. Do they have insurance? He then has the audacity to tell me they're supposed to go to the dentist every six months. Really? Seriously? Coming from the man who only sees them once every two or three months, and even when we did live with him, had no concerns or ideas or handling whatsoever in their medical and dental care. Label me worst mother of the year, as he certainly was implying. I decided that a fight with him would only confuse him, and somehow he would once again twist it to me fighting over finances so I again simply asked if they have dental through him. What do you know, they don't. Glad I got harassed to find that out. If you ask me, there are worse things than missing a couple of dentist appointments.
Poor Tayler has strep and possibly a kidney infection, and I have my own medical proceedings happening on Thursday (no worries, all is well, just stuff to deal with) so overall... I'm ready to make some good soup and I think a round of UNO is called for. Hey girlies, come match some colors and numbers with me.

yeah, the dentist isn't all it's cracked up to be! Our oldest had a tooth pulled today! sounds like the x is just looking for a way to get under your skin - a good game of UNO is always a stress reliever (for me anyway) GOOD LUCK!

There is NO WAY that you are a bad Mom, especially if you are basing it on not taking your girls to the dentist every six months. I don't make it every six months with my kids when I know I should. And what an idiot for lecturing you on how often you are supposed to take the girls, I doubt he has offered to take them!! I am appalled that he canceled your insurance back to 2007. Even more so, I am appalled that is even legal! What a jerk- I hate to say that about the father of your children but sometime when the shoes fits....
Hang in there! Love ya!

P.S. Watch Tayler close with the strep. Brad's foot infection was from the strep throat that our boys had. It landed him in the hospital and on IV antibiotics for a week. The Dr said he has seen lots of patients with this strain in random parts of their bodies!
