Happy 6 Bug!

I'm going to interrupt the vacation blogging to tell Tayler happy birthday (yesterday). My sweet sweet girl is six. The many faces of Tayler: I think she's taking after West when it comes to making faces for the camera! She got her beloved iPod. I see a birthday trend evolving... makes my job easy. Four iPods please...
So... six things I adore about Tayler:

  1. She is the sweetest thing! Absolutely the most tender hearted caring girl I know.

  2. She's the goofiest thing I know too. She's always being silly, making faces, cracking jokes, and just plain ready to make people laugh.

  3. She listens... most of the time. I don't usually have a problem with Tayler and getting her stuff done, unless she's in a "mood", but we all have those days.

  4. She's always smiling and happy, and it brightens my heart to see her so happy and alive all the time.

  5. School excites her. She's always willing to learn something new.

  6. She likes doing things with me. With us. As a family. Hiking, movies, park, camping, card games, shopping dinner, she's a family oriented girlie.

Happy birthday Bug. I love you! (Dinner at Applebee's with Grandpa Dick and Grandma KC).
Here's a lot of pictures of her party. We had it at Flip's gym in Bountiful. I'm all for someone else doing all the party work for me (especially after Casidee's party!).

This greeted us at the front door as soon as we walked in. It had a sign that said "Happy Birthday Tayler".Sean doing a somersault of the rolling thingy (yes, it's a very technical term).Tayler and one of her best friends, Landree.Tayler's other BFF, Gretchen, Cali, Tayler, Landree.Tayler got to draw shapes on the trampoline to get ready for the jumping games. One side was team circle, one side was team heart.
Taking turns to see who can jump higher than who, while everyone else chanted, "Higher! Higher!" at the top of their lungs. Then everyone took turns doing a trick. The rule at this party was the birthday girl goes first for everything. Free for all throwing soft blocks. West, Christine, and I became favorite targets. "Adults! Get them!" Tayler sat in the middle of the parachute and everyone walked around in a circle, loosely wrapping the parachute around her. Then they all pulled straight out and she whirled around and got super dizzy.
Then they billowed out the parachute and got inside it, had Tayler stand in the middle, and belted out a rowdy rendition of "Happy Birthday". I wish I could have been inside to take pictures. I can only imagine her face.
Next was rope climbing/swinging. Your choice. Jayme made it clear to the top.
CaliSamBrynnSean ALMOST made it to the top. He was SO close.Brother Bill taught me how to climb the rope like they do in the military, by wrapping it around one leg and stepping on it with the other. Let me just say that climbing the rope is HARD, and I still can't believe I made it to the top. And by the end of this adventure I had bruises from the rope around one leg, and rope burn on the other ankle!
West just pulled himself up hand over hand, lickety-split. But coming down he got a nasty rope burn that ripped open his finger. Gross. Still, I was very impressed with him, especially after how I'd struggled with it.Tayler's party beat Casidee's with 19 kids, but I'm way OK with that, since all I had to do was buy the cake and take pictures and it was over and done with in an hour and a half.
