West called and said that he wanted to take Brynn to the Old Spaghetti Factory for lunch for her birthday. The circus and I had never been there, and it was fun to sit in the trolley. The food was great, and the waitress put candles in both Sean's (whose birthday is a day before Brynn's) and Brynn's ice cream.

For Brynn's birthday party we did a backwards party. We mirrored the invites so they were backwards, the kids showed up with their clothes on backwards, and we had the cake written up backwards.

We started with presents first, instead of last,

took the group picture backwards,

ate cake for dinner, and pizza for dessert. We even tried singing happy birthday backwards, "You to birthday happy...", but then we did it right so we could sing it LOUD.

The kids ate under the table instead of on it,

Sydney improvised and put the cake topper on her pizza.

An improvised dance-a-thon broke out while they were waiting for me to get the things for the game (of course we ended on games instead of starting with them).

The game... wrap a huge candy bar up in newspaper and masking tape. Take turns around the circle rolling the dice. Whoever gets an eight (chosen for the birthday girl's age) tries to unwrap it with oven mitts and forks. Whoever unwraps it gets to keep it. Of course, I bought one for everyone, but they didn't know that until the end.

And don't forget the dance matt in the bedroom. Fun fun.

*sigh*, the things we do for our kids...
