Despite the debacle with Casidee's friend D, Cas still insists on playing, oh excuse me, how nerdy mom of me, I meant to say that Cas still insists on hanging out with D and I'm not sure what to do about it. I've settled with it being fine if they're hanging out together at A's house, or our house, because so far A has proven trustworthy. But if they ask to go somewhere, say the mall, or the library, or Classic, I'm going to be prone to say no for obvious reasons. Mean mom? Probably. But I think D has given me reason to be cautious as a mom.
We have entered a time in our lives where school projects have become prevalent. And I fear we'll never recover.
Jayme typed up her book report.
Brynn typed up her report on barred owls, complete with colored picture drawn and poster board created with printed pictures and facts.
Cas has finished the rough drafts for her very lengthy autobiography (seriously she's only been alive for 11, fine, even almost 12 years. How long can this puppy get?), and I've finished my page for that. Note to loving family member adults, if you'd like to write a paragraph or more either to Cas or about Cas, feel free. There's a section for that in her autobiography project. You can email it to me and I'll print it out for her.
Both Sean and Tayler, who are in the same class, have finished their book reports complete with character, plot, and location drawn out and colored on paper plates and hung together with yarn.
Cali has started math homework.
Don't get me started on math homework.
West is certain, just certain, that we're going to win the hgtv's home give away. Just last night he told me, "only 14 more days until they announce the winner." It's in Midway. Can you imagine what that will do my commute? But the outside entertaining deck alone would be worth it. Not to mention the additional $500, 000 you win with it. Whenever I'm headed to the store I ask West if he needs anything to which he replies, "a million dollars." And I always answer, "I'm working on it." I've been the dutiful wife and added my daily entry for this hgtv house with his so when we win (we will, he says) I can tell him next time he asks me for that million bucks, that I at least got half of it for him.
And this weekend will be huge because this Sunday is... my birthday! Not to be confused in any way with Superbowl Sunday. How nice of everyone to be throwing parties in my honor. And I can not express enough gratitude that I married a man who doesn't watch sports. Not even on Superbowl Sunday. Our plan? Stock up on rented videos for the day. Make my favorite dinner and chocolate fondue and hang out with the circus.
And if I can find a theater that's still playing the new Muppets movie (it's not in the dollar theater yet, but it's not at our regular theater anymore) I may just have to make West take us all to it on Saturday. Oh, and Plato's closet is having there $10 bag sale again on Saturday. Happy new birthday clothes to me.
