good morning beautiful

The Man didn't have work today.  Usually he's up before me and already downstairs doing whatever it is he does in the wee morning hours before I roll out of bed.

Mornings, to me, are not pretty.

It's not that I'm ornery or grumpy, because I'm not.  You can talk to me and I'm not going to bite your head off.  I'll even most likely give you a smile.  But I'm slow.  I don't get things.  My brain doesn't work.  And often times West will find me back in bed after my long shower when I should be putting clothes on and blow drying my hair.

But this morning it was me who was getting up before him.  Slowly.  Agonizingly.  It doesn't matter what time I go to bed, or how much sleep I get, it's the same ol' I can't get this brain to function routine for me.  I usually stand in a glazed over daze in the shower for a really long time.

Since West was still in bed, that meant that I couldn't get back in it because the lights were off, and that would mean that I would be out cold in a matter of seconds.  Usually when I crawl back in bed the lights are on.  That keeps me coherent enough to get back up again.

I stepped out of the shower, got dressed in the clothes I had put in the bathroom the night before, and blow dried my hair.  By then the circus was stirring.

I stepped out of our bathroom into the dark bedroom and made my way around the bed to go downstairs and make the circus eggs.  We had 1/4 of a gallon of milk.  Cereal wasn't going to happen today.

As I groped through the dark I hear, "I hear my beautiful woman."

Does he know just what to say first thing in the morning or what.  Instead of finding the door, I found him.  Then he whispers to me, "what are your lunch plans today? Oh yeah, you have lunch plans with me."  Like he's the luckiest man in the world to eat lunch with me.

I'm the luckiest woman in the world to be having lunch plans with him.

West's cousin (but I'm claiming him too!) Got married to a cute girl yesterday.
{I totally stole this off of his facebook.  Aren't they reeking of fun personality?}

I love their family.  They are down right the nicest people on this earth.  I don't usually do wedding cakes.  I prefer to do character cakes and birthday cakes.  I usually pass the wedding cakes on to my friend Aislinn, who is Amazing with a capital "A", and actually in business where I am not.  I just have a hobby.  But when this family of ours asked me to help with the wedding cake I wasn't going to tell them no.

Like I said, I'm no professional.  And it shows.  But what it lacks in pristine perfectness it makes up for in taste and flavor.

I think I'll stick to "fun cakes".

Happy wedding to our cousins.  Their wedding lunch is today and I get to meet my man there to celebrate the union of a cute couple and the fact that we are a part of a great family.

"Oh baby she's beautiful"

The other day on facebook I made mention in a status that my only regret for eloping the way we did, was that we didn't even think to take even one picture.  Not a single one.  I have no pictures of my marriage day with West.  And that kind of sucks in my book.
Today West sent me this via text.  It's from after our elopement, but still during that time when we thought we'd do a wedding.  We even went dress shopping.  He was very insistent that he was going to have a say in the dress I wore.  I told him he could help narrow it down to two or three but he didn't get to know the final decision.  It was a good compromise. Of course, by now we know we're too busy living to do a wedding.  Maybe sometime later in life we'll get around to a renewal of vows.
"Oh baby she's beautiful.  MINE. May not be a wedding photo but close enough ;)"
How grateful I am, during this week of Thanksgiving, for a man who actually loves me.  He truly does.  He doesn't tear me down.  He lifts me up.  He holds on to me, he cherishes me, and he leaves me with no doubts that he feels this way.  How blessed am I to have him in my life.

Giddy

I'm feeling a little giddy. Not because it's Valentine's Day (though I DO feel giddy over my man, that's just a general everyday giddy that I lived a charm life to feel) but because I went from being a general working mom who does random cakes for the fun of it in the random spare time that I have, and some times I get around to posting pics of said cakes on my project blog... to being "Stephanie over at Circus Cakes". Hee hee I LOVED reading that. My lovely bribe project was featured on Bargain Divas and I felt COOL. I'm going to say it again, "Stephanie over at Circus Cakes". Sounds good doesn't it? Happy Valentine's! Enjoy that fact that you have loved ones in your life. And go vote for my wedding while you're at it. I AM bribing you after all ;).

Vote... because if we can't go, you can't

Going to Turks and Caicos for a wedding adds up, especially when we have to times it by 8 for our kids to go with us. We entered this contest to win the ultimate wedding of $100,000. I'm going to mix it up and say I'm not above bribes. I'll do a give away for a three tier cake of your design for any occasion you choose. Here's what you do: You get an entry into the give away for your initial vote on our contest entry. Let me know on any of my blogs or on my facebook that you voted and you're in. THEN for every person that comes to any of my blogs and says they voted for us because you sent them, you both get entries into the give away. The more people you get to vote for us the more entries YOU get for a FREE THREE TIERED CAKE of your choice. SPREAD THE WORD. I want my wedding. And I'm pretty sure you can think of an occasion for a fancy three tiered cake. :)

Tidbits

So those who aren't aware and would like info, or just to read about the adventure of it, I did start a wedding blog. www.mrandmrswithers.blogspot.com, it has for quite a few months been neglected but now that a date has been set (Oct 6 2012) it's on a roll again. Nick, this means you. You get this blog emailed to you, but not that one, so if you want info on it, you have to check it out. Same for all parentals and any other family or friends who love us enough to want to go. So check it out, I go into more detail on the how's and where's and what's on it.
Also, I'm very aware that I am VERY behind on this blog also, so... tomorrow is my mass blogging day. Watch for it :)

We have a wedding blog

In order for me to be able to purge all of my wedding thoughts and plans, you know, so my head doesn't explode with it all, I started a wedding blog. I was going to just dump all my useless ramblings and ideas about the whole thing here, but really, do I want the "wedding monster" taking over my family blog? I think not. So if any of you are interested (and most especially if you are family or close friends who will be taking the trip to our "destination wedding" (and of course we haven't sent out save the date because you're coming with us cards yet but if you fall into this category then pay attention)) this blog will be where I stick all the plans and goings on, and as things progress this will be where I start to communicate all the travel arrangements for the brave adventurous souls who love us enough to go.

Aaron and Megan Clement

Sean got to be ring bearer and Jayme got to be flower girl for Megan and Aaron's wedding. (Heaven forbid we actually get a picture of Megan and Aaron ha ha, it's just THEIR wedding after all!). To catch some of you up, Megan is West's ex sister-in-law. And today (actually last Friday, I'm a little behind on my posts) was the day I was going to have meet West's ex wife... dun dun dun! West is still close to his ex family, all except the ex wife that is. Megan and Aaron go to most of our BBQ's and camping trips, I've been to his ex mother-in-laws several times, and another ex sister-in-law did my hair for my birthday surprise from West. I decided at the very first of dating West (I met Megan and Aaron on my first camping trip with West at the dunes, only two months into dating) that if West didn't care, and the ex family didn't care, who was I to care?

I think these pictures say a lot. Who cares if a wedding is taking place? Ha ha!

OK, here's kind of a picture of Megan and Aaron. That's Sean performing his ring bearer duties. The funniest part of the wedding ceremony was when Aaron answered "yup" instead of "I do". The Bishop stopped for a second and then said, "I'm going to take that as a 'Yes'."

Awkward situations are actually quite entertaining when you have the upper hand. I was extremely comfortable with the family there, and could care less about the ex wife. I stayed out of her way, which was easy as she was bent on avoiding and ignoring me. The two occasions she had to talk to West about the kids she was extremely jittery and straight to the point, not usually her case when she's talking to him. I don't have any issues with her, and as far as any of that goes, she'll just have to get used to me being around, because I'm not planning on going anywhere.
