I've mentioned Tay a lot lately... I promise I have other kids (FIVE of them actually!). Tay's just had a busy month, that's all :). Including her birthday.
Happy 8.

Her birthday was right after Easter (which I didn't get any pics of because it wasn't our holiday and we were kid free. Which also means BOOOORING. Actually, we went four wheeling and I have four pics, but they're all bike related, not Easter related so I'll post them at some point... I digress), so Tay wanted her birthday to be an egg hunt. We sent out invites claiming it was a hunt with a twist and not to be missed.

I found these monkey lanterns at the dollar store. They're part of the "twist", which I'll show you in just a second.

We wanted to have the party outside, but since we live in awesome Utah, it was snowing (at the end of April. Awesome.) So we did it in our basement instead. We started with egg relays, using plastic eggs, they ran around with eggs on spoons in their mouths, and pushed eggs along with their noses. They were told the winners were the ones who laughed the most. It was hilarious to watch.

I made a giant memory game with Easter and birthday themed pictures.

And the twist with the lanterns? The egg hunt was in the dark, the lanterns being their only light.

Tay decorated her own cake with some boingy flowers and butterflies that I found at Hobby Lobby (oh how did I ever live before Hobby Lobby?).

Her best friend Ash helped.

Tay had fun. And she had a house full, despite
recent friend problems at school. I love this little girl.
