Baked Donuts

Cas, the aspiring chef, received a donut baker for an early Christmas present (from a cousin on her dad's side). They tasted like eggnog and were fabulous. I think she's going to do just fine in her dreams of being a chef.
And since growing up is all about learning, Cas learned that it's important to pay attention to the measurement increments on the recipe. She also learned the volatile relationship between vinegar and baking soda. One cup of vinegar added to baking soda turns out to be a lot more exciting, and a lot more of a mess, than one tablespoon would have. Lesson learned.
Tay and Jay helped Cas decorate these masterpieces and the circus couldn't eat enough of them. I guess we'll have to have Cas pull out her donut baker again soon.

What's on YOUR menu?

This momma is STUMPED. We're eating the same things week after week. I need new, realistic ideas. Realistic, as in I want it to be hearty and satisfying while somewhat healthy (at least) while only taking a half hour to throw together because I just worked 10 hours and now I'm at home with my circus and we're starving and I don't have that much time in the evening with them to be slaving it all away in front of the stove. (How's that for a run on sentence?) So my question is, what are you having for dinner? And maybe what are some of your favorite recipe or food blogs?

Velvet Cake Balls... try at your own I-can't-stop-eating risk

I've been drooling over these things since I saw them on my cousin's blog. She stole the recipe from here

All I can say is they are SO worth it! I wasn't sure what cake bark was, but chocolate wafers from the craft store worked. Maybe it's the same thing... I have no idea. All I know, is I just ate way to many cake balls for breakfast! I ran out of chocolate near the end, so some of the balls were left uncovered. West says he actually prefers them that way. I guess no matter how you look at it these suckers are going to make you addicted to them.
